What Is Voltage? Understanding Your Body's Natural Charge
Share
When most people hear the word voltage, they think of batteries or outlets. But voltage is also part of you. Every cell in your body carries a tiny electrical charge, and that charge is part of how your body communicates with itself.
Voltage, simply explained
Voltage is a difference in electrical charge between two points. Think of it like water pressure in a hose. The pressure is what makes the water want to move. Voltage is the "pressure" that makes electrical charge want to move.
Your cells have voltage too
Each of your cells keeps a slightly different balance of charged minerals, like sodium, potassium, and calcium, inside the cell compared to outside it. That difference creates a small voltage across the cell's outer layer, called the membrane potential. It's measured in thousandths of a volt, but it matters. It's how nerve signals travel, how your heart keeps its rhythm, and how nutrients move in and out of your cells.
This is part of why hydration and minerals matter so much. Water and electrolytes are the medium your body's charge moves through.
The earth has a charge as well
The surface of the earth carries a gentle natural charge. For most of human history, we walked barefoot and slept close to the ground. Today, we spend most of our time in shoes, indoors, and surrounded by screens. That's one reason practices like grounding have become so popular.
How this connects to Aura Grounding™
In an Aura Grounding™ session, you rest within a gentle energy field that brings together light, frequency, harmonics, and voltage. Our philosophy is simple: your body already knows how to be balanced. A session is a quiet space to help it remember.
Supporting your natural charge at home
- Drink water steadily through the day, and include mineral-rich foods.
- Spend time outdoors, ideally with bare feet on grass, sand, or soil.
- Take screen breaks, especially before bed.
- Sip a calming blend from our Calm & Restoration collection as part of an evening wind-down.
Aura Grounding™ is a non-medical wellness experience and is not intended to diagnose, treat, or cure any condition. Please consult your healthcare provider with any health questions.
